Good Enough to Eat...

Our recipes have been developed over time and include the following popular choices:

  • Sweet and moist fruit cake warmed with a generous dousing of the best alcohol - not overly dark and a favourite with fruit cake lovers (as well as many who are not..).
  • Belgian chocolate cake with rich chocolate butter cream (or bourbon vanilla buttercream) - dark and soft with well balanced flavours and a fine, close texture. This cake can be coated with sugarpaste or Belgian chocolate paste and may be served as a dessert with berries and/or a fruit coulis such as raspberry.
  • Luscious lemon cake with zesty butter cream - a good choice to serve after a heavy meal as it is exceptionally light on the palette.
  • Exotic orange cake - warmer and more mellow than the lemon cake, with a zingy orange buttercream. This cake is has full, well rounded flavour.
  • Best ever coffee cake - ranked by many as THE best coffee cake they have tasted. Made with our own Italian coffee extract with a very light, whipped butter cream. Real coffee-ness in a cake.

We do not usually recommend vanilla sponge with conserve and butter cream under sugar paste icing, as vanilla is a naturally sweet spice and you may therefore find the cake rather sickly after a full buffet or sit-down meal.
