Your cake design
Cakes can be styled any way you want them to be: simple and chic, classy and refined, pretty and perfect or stunning displays of sugar artistry. The choice is entirely individual. There are few limits in the world of cakes, other than safety!
Designing your cake may take from several hours to several weeks. It may even evolve over months - and is best done with as much information from you as possible. Important factors to consider are:
- size of cake: this will depend partly on the look you want for your cake but also on the number of guests you wish to serve. You may prefer to serve your cake after a sit-down meal, or in the evening after a buffet, or even both. You may also wish to serve your cake in place of dessert. We will discuss these details with you in order to create the most perfect cake for your wedding day.
The starting points for your cake will normally be its size and shape as well as presentation of tiers (stacked, separated by pillars or on a stand).
Other points to consider include:
- colour - would you like your wedding colour theme to be used in the cake design?
- textures/designs/patterns - are there any motifs or ideas that you would like to incorporate?
- budget - do you have a fixed or flexible budget?
